Indonesia is the country with the strongest military in 2016 in the scope of Southeast Asia based rankings on the web at Global Firepower. The only other country in Southeast Asia that is closest to Indonesia in the list are Vietnam and Thailand.
Global Firepower call, the rankings are not made only on the number of weapons owned by a state. However, their research focuses on the diversity and balance of weapons owned by each country.
At least, there are 50 factors that are used to provide an assessment on the military strength of the country. Several factors are taken into consideration is the geographical factor, flexibility of logistics, natural resources, and the local industry.
Number of resources is a key factor, where countries with a larger population tends to be in higher rankings in the appeal other countries with a population of less. In addition, countries that do not have a sea area not rated than to the lack of its navy, while countries had navy compared to each other with the plurality of assets.

The ranking is not only a local scale, but globally, where the United States was ranked first out of 126 countries surveyed. Russia, China and India, as in position two, three, and four.
Indonesia, in this case, is in the ranking of 14, one level below Pakistan, and unique, two levels above Israel. Member countries of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) such as the US, France, Britain, Turkey, and Germany is in the top ranks because judged based on the assumption that these countries share military resources. However, the political and military leadership of the ruling is not currently helped influence.
